If you have been wondering how some blogs online post lots of contents per day, you are not alone. There are numerous blogs owners who are also wondering just like you. Here, we have a step by step guide on how to write a quick blog post in just 20 minutes.

Step 1. Plan, Plan, Plan!
This first step is the most essential part in writing anything because of the fact that you are laying out the foundation to the entire article. You can either make or break an article just in this first step. First off, you have to brainstorm what your article is about, and what you want to convey in the article. Each article should have a purpose, whether it be to sell a product, or just to inform people about a subject. Next, what you want to do is to organize the piece in your head or on a piece of paper. Go over what each paragraph is going to do, and what the purpose of each one is.

Step 2. Prepare, Prepare, Prepare!

Next, although this is any extremely easy step, it is also crucial to your writing fluency and overall readability. Go to Thesaurus.com. That’s all you have to do. I personally use this online thesaurus every single time I write because it makes my writing easier to read and less repetitive. Trust me, no one wants to read an article that uses the same keyword over and over again.

Step 3. Write, Write, Write!

If you are trying to write an article in 20 minutes, you will have to just write. Don’t think too much about organization as you can come back to it later. Just put all your ideas down on the page so you do not forget any of them. Remember, you are trying to write a quick article in 20 minutes so it does not have to be perfect, you can proofread and edit the article all you want after you have finished writing.

Step 4. Keep it short and use Numbers or Bullet points

Because of the time constraint of 20 minutes, you want to keep the article as short as possible while still effectively stating your purpose. Do not try to the Bible in 20 minutes. My recommendation is that you keep it under 400 words if you have not been writing articles in under 20 minutes for a long time. As you progress and your writing skills improve, you will be able to write longer and better articles even in the time constraints of 20 minutes. Also, another effective tactic I have seen numerous writers put into action is using bullets or numbers to organize and separate their ideas. It is such a powerful technique because of the fact that many people like seeing articles which are separated, and are more likely to read it just because you used numbers or bullet points.

Step 5. Proofread, Proofread, Proofread!

Although this part is admittedly very boring, it is critical to whether you come off as competent or as someone who does not know what they are talking about. One grammatical error could persuade someone to click off your page because it looks like you are unprofessional and amateur. In this last step, make sure that your sentence structure is good, there are no spelling mistakes, and you put punctuations in the correct areas. After that, look at your timer and hopefully you have written your article in under 20 minutes.

Even if you did not complete the article in 20 minutes, no worries! At least you have taken the steps necessary to do it and in the process improved your writing skills so that maybe next time you can do it in less than 20 minutes.
